The Ogaden National Liberation Front Congratulates President Barak Obama

The Ogaden National Liberation Front on behalf of the Ogaden congratulates President Barak Obama and the American people on wining the second term of the presidency of the United States of America.

The Unites States of America is a strategic key player in the world and ONLF hopes that the president in his new term will actively take part in addressing the core issues that have made the horn of Africa insecure- age-old injustices, undemocratic rules and perennial conflicts has made the Horn of Africa a conflict ridden, insecure terrain which has devastated the lives of millions of people, in particular in Ethiopia and Somalia.

ONLF believes that unless there is an urgent move towards true democratic changes and respect for human rights in Ethiopia, it will descent to another Somalia, with far more profound ramifications than Somalia, that will endanger African and world peace. Furthermore, the hub of the Horn of African conflicts is the Ogaden issue, which affects all the peoples and states in the Horn of Africa.

Therefore, ONLF strongly urges the president, together with other world and African leaders to stand by the people in the Horn of Africa instead of dubious dictatorial regimes, by sponsoring genuine dialogue to bring just settlements, which will in return pay greater dividends in security and well-being of all concerned.

The Ogaden National Liberation Front wishes well for the President, his family and the American people.

Ogaden National Liberation Front
