The Ogaden national Liberation Front congratulates the Djibouti people and their president His Excellency Ismaaciil Cumar Geelle on the occasion Independence Day of the Republic of Djibouti.
The independence of Djibouti is a symbol of freedom for the Somali people still under colonial rule. May the people of Djibouti prosper!

 The Ethiopian government claim that it had concluded a deal with a large ONLF faction is a self-serving blatant lie intended to mislead the international community. It is not the first time that Ethiopia used this cheap trick concerning agreements with ONLF. In 1995, it used few stooges to promote ‘a faction of ONLF that it claimed to have accepted the constitution and participated in the so called elections’ of that time. Recently, in her usual self-deception, Ethiopia was celebrating for signing peace agreement the defunct former Al-Itihad elements, but that does not change the situation on the ground. |
O.N.L.F Forces In Control of Hilala Oil Field

 Special forces of the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) yesterday liberated and are now in control of the Hilala oil field in Eastern Ogaden. Troops of the regime abandoned the field after being surrounded by our forces and determining their chances for survival were slim. Those troops were given safe passage out of Hilala fields as they had indicated they did not want to fight and willingly shared valuable intelligence. As such, there were no casualties in the operation on either side. |

In an interview with BBC World Service, the ONLF Foreign Secretary, Mr. Abdirahman Sh Mahdi outlines the ONLF's position towards any peace with the Ethiopian Government 
The Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF), on behalf of the Somali people of Ogaden, extends its heartfelt congratulations to the people of Somalia on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Somalia's independence. 
A claim made by Ethiopian Prime Minister, Melez Zenawi at his most recent press conference that his regime will "soon sign an agreement" with the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) has no basis in reality and is intended to mislead the international community in general and foreign oil firms in particular.
