| The Puntland Administration detained five Ogaden Somali civilians in Bassaso, who were travelling from Yemen to Ogaden on 18th October 2009.Both the Puntland militia and Ethiopian Security extensively tortured the detainees and then one of the detainees was abducted and taken to a prison in Harar. On November 2 2009, one of the prisoners in Bossaso died of internal wounds sustained during the extensive torture subjected to him. |

| The assertion that ‘Residents said militiamen of the Ethiopian rebel group the Ogaden Liberation Front (OLF) helped al-Shaabab drive out government forces from Yeed town in the Bakool region, and "Al Shabaab and OLF militias took Yeed town from us," by Bakool region's governor , Abdi Mohamed, told to Reuters is baseless and outright lie. It is a plot hatched by Meles regime that is intended to link ONLF with Alshabab in a bid to make Ogaden National Liberation Front’s a subject of international censure. No ONLA units took part in any operation near Yeed. |

The ONLF as a matter of principle and expediency is bound to engage any Ethiopian armed presence in Ogaden due to the threat such an army poses to the livelihood of Ogaden people and the war Crimes it commits against the Ogaden people. |

Ethiopia’s claim that it has captured four tonnes of Chemicals and 7000 rounds of ammunitions, after an ONLF commander had surrendered is an exercise in extreme chicanery by inventing tall stories intended to hide its war crimes in the Ogaden and confuse the international community.
The extent of the famine is firstly being massively underestimated by the regime of Meles Zanawi, according to a report last month by Britain's Channel 4. Moreover, the Ethiopian army is also diverting food aid and pursuing a scorched earth policy in the Ogaden region.
Food security continues to plague many areas of Ethiopia because of drought, according to the latest joint report by the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Famine Early Warning Systems Network.
Mogadishu, Asharq Al-Awsat- Admiral Mohamed Omar Osman, leader of the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF), one of the most prominent armed groups that are opposed to the Ethiopian Government, believes that the issue of the Ogaden region is a forgotten Arab-Islamic cause, on the basis that the region, which Ethiopia considers its "fifth province", is an occupied Somali land. He says it is one of the last occupied Arab territories in the 21st century.
GALKAYO, Somalia Oct 9 (Garowe Online) - Authorities in Somalia's Puntland State government have condemned unilateral action reportedly taken by Ethiopian intelligence agents in the central city of Galkayo, Radio Garowe reports. Ethiopian intelligence agents raided a Galkayo house overnight Wednesday, wounding at least two Somali men inside.
