The ONLF is a grassroots social and political movement founded in 1984 by the Somali people of Ogaden who could no longer bear the atrocities committed against them by successive Ethiopian regimes. Today, the ONLF as both an advocate for and defender of the people is dedicated to resotring the rights of Somalis in Ogaden to self-determination, peace, development and democracy |

Time For A Shift In Priorities Posted by miharbi on October 30 2009 08:54:59

| (NNPA) - Twenty-five years ago, the world was sickened when pictures of starving children flashed across their television screens each night. Extreme famine, drought, and war hit Ethiopia like a ton of bricks and the victims were the nation’s most vulnerable. Ethiopia was riddled by a deadly combination of war and apathy. And while many will never forget the images from 1984, this scene has continued to replay itself over the years. |
ONLF Does not Collaborate with Al-Shabab Posted by miharbi on September 21 2009 16:05:34

| The assertion that ‘Residents said militiamen of the Ethiopian rebel group the Ogaden Liberation Front (OLF) helped al-Shaabab drive out government forces from Yeed town in the Bakool region, and "Al Shabaab and OLF militias took Yeed town from us," by Bakool region's governor , Abdi Mohamed, told to Reuters is baseless and outright lie. It is a plot hatched by Meles regime that is intended to link ONLF with Alshabab in a bid to make Ogaden National Liberation Front’s a subject of international censure. No ONLA units took part in any operation near Yeed. |
Statement - Ogaden National Liberation Front Posted by miharbi on September 16 2009 07:23:51
|
| The Ogaden National Liberations Front (ONLF) informs all concerned parties that in the Ogaden there is an ongoing war between the Ogaden people and Ethiopian TPLF/EPRDF occupation Troops. The ONLF as a matter of principle and expediency is bound to engage any Ethiopian armed presence in Ogaden due to the threat such an army poses to the livelihood of Ogaden people and the war Crimes it commits against the Ogaden people. |
