 NAIROBI // A television documentary has sparked a minor diplomatic row between Kenya and Ethiopia, two neighbouring east African powerhouses. The Ethiopian government last week launched an effort to block a Kenyan television station from airing a four-part documentary on the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF), a rebel group that has fought a low-level insurgency in southern Ethiopia for more than 30 years. |

| Ambassador David Shinn’s deceptive rhetoric cannot justify the Ethiopian occupation of Ogaden and Ethiopia has no legal ground at all to occupy Ogaden. The fact remains that the British colonial power transferred Ogaden to Ethiopia without the knowledge and consent of the Ogaden people. On the contrary to the Ambassador David Shinn’s view, Ogaden Somalis have undisputed legitimate right to independence under the universally adopted international law as a factor of lasting peace, security and stability in the Horn of Africa. |

 The Gorgor, Duufaan and Danab brigades of the Ogaden National Liberation Army (ONLA) conducted a coordinated military operations in response to increased harassment and war crimes being committed by the Ethiopian Army in the regions of Qorahay( Qabri daharre), Jarar (Dhagaxbuur) and Jigjiga, killing 90 soldiers and wounding more than 100 others. |

VIENNA, 11 August 2009 – Kenya’s Nation Media Group will resist pressure from both the Ethiopian and Kenyan Governments, and complete the broadcast of a four-part Nation Television (NTV) investigative documentary on rebel fighters in Ethiopia, sources inside the news organisation have told the International Press Institute (IPI).
The Ogaden National Liberation Front has accused Ethiopian troops for massacring civilians in many parts in ogaden region. The vice-chairman of ONLF Abdiqadir Adani has told the press that Ethiopian troops have killed dozens of women and innocents in the region. He further said that Woyane kills the civilians when they are defeated by ONLF fighters.
AFP- ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA - Ethiopia's state minister for communication affairs has refused to return home from the United Sates after an official visit, a top government official told AFP Wednesday.
